Hideyuki Saito is one of Bangkok's best bartenders. For the last two years, he's been pouring out the drinks from behind the bar at Vogue Lounge, Sathorn's luxurious rooftop bar in MahaNakhon Cube.

Now though, he's left those swanky, plum leather confines and let slip he's moving on over to Thonglor to open his own bar.

Right now, he's not telling much, other than that it'll be on Soi 25, called Bronx, and fuse the drinking cultures of Britain, America and Japan. There's also a set opening date: Sep 1

Saito began bartending in the precision world of Tokyo's cocktail lounges before moving to London, where he was responsible for designing the cockail menus for Electric House by Soho House and Purl bar. He also did a stint in New York before joining Vogue Lounge in 2014.

The news comes at the same time that another of Bangkok's best-known bartenders, Sebastian De La Cruz of Sapparot Group (U.N.C.L.E., Lady Brett), has also announced he'll be going it alone.  Stay tuned for more news on that one soon.
