Still no TPL or Division 1 action (and TPL Chief Dr Vichit said this week that the restart of the season may well be pushed back another week to the first weekend of August. League Cup 2nd leg fixtures have already been moved to August 3rd) so just one FA Cup match for fans in the capital, but a whole programme of Regional League fixtures as usual. In the cup, on Sunday – and we admit it just barely qualifies as a Bangkok and vicinity club – Rajpracha of Division 1 welcome Sisaket of the TPL to Mahidol University in Nakhon Pathom (3.30pm).

In the Bangkok Division of the Regional League (see our special focus here), Chanchuri take on Thanyaburi tonight (Thursday) at 6pm at the Chulalongkorn University Stadium. On Saturday, bottom-of-the-table Luk-Isaan host Nonthaburi FC at Valayalongkorn Rajabhat University at 4pm, and Globlex play Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University at the Ramkamhaeng University Stadium also at 4pm. However, the big game is scheduled to take place at the Army Stadium, Din Daeng at 6pm on Saturday as first plays second when North Bangkok entertain Kasetsart University.

On Sunday, Kasem Bundit host Maptaphut Rayong at the 72nd Anniversary Stadium in Minburi; Samut Prakan United entertain Assumption Thonburi at the SAT Sports Centre in Bang Phli, and Rajvithi are at home to Prachinburi FC at the Regency Stadium, Khlong Chan.

He’s Here
You read about it here first, and Liverpool-legend Robbie Fowler did indeed sign for TPL giants Muangthong United last weekend. His one-year contract is worth a reported B20 million and the 36-year-old was in the stands to see his new team crush Samut Prakan United 9-0 in the FA Cup last weekend. The TPL’s popularity was already at an all-time high, but with the arrival of ‘God’ the domestic game just took another leap forward. You can hear what the man himself has to say about his move to Thailand this Sunday when an interview will be broadcast at 10:30pm on Channel 9.
