Cue the anguished tears and howls of fury—the much-anticipated Hostess Club Weekender has been canceled, much to the disappointment and dismay of fans (like us, boo). The Hostess Club shows in Manila on June 16 and 17 have also been called off. 

We were so looking forward to catching  Cat Power, Blonde Redhead (whom we talked to on the phone), Perfume Genius and Sohn in the flesh, but obviously that's not gonna happen any longer. Hostess Asia issued a predictably mysterious press release, saying it was "due to unforeseen, last minute technical issues that cannot be resolved in time for the shows to proceed."

Would-have-been concert goers can get their refunds by calling 6602-9900 or emailing askeve@eventclique.com. 

Left with no plans for the weekend now? Drown your sorrows at Beerfest Asia, or heal your broken heart with some retail therapy at Big Ohm Theory. Alternatively, you can still rock out (to local music this time) at the 100 Bands Festival.
