Finally, the event all sci-fi, super hero, anime and fantasy geeks have been waiting for is coming to Thailand.

Today, a picture of the titular throne from HBO's massively popular TV series Game of Thrones got over 1,200 likes from Thai fans in a few hours. Although the bridge is vaguely similar to some of the ones in Bangkok, the picture was not shot here. But the throne is confirmed to be on its way to Bangkok.

The organizers of the first-ever Bangkok Comic Con are bringing the massive block of swords assembled into one massive throne--the very same one used to shoot the actual series--to Bangkok ahead of a major celebration of the coolest characters in film, books and comic books.

Comic Cons are huge events in the USA, where they allow fans and stars of sci-fi and fantasy movies to congregate. They are an opportunity for actors, producers, directors, distributors, set and special effects designers, animators, artists, writers and the fans to meet and share their passion.

Scheduled for Jul 4-6 at the Royal Paragon Hall, the Bangkok Comic Con is a little sketchy on who fans will actually get to rub shoulders with, though. So far, only the producer of the Batman movies and a storyboard artist for Game of Thrones are confirmed.

Organized by True Visions and BEC-Tero, the event also promises to host events from HBO's Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, sneak peaks of upcoming Hollywood films, plus characters from Cartoon Networks (Ben10, Spongebob Squarepants) and Doraemon. Batman's anniversary celebrations should be the conference's highlight, though.
