After 24 hours of online anticipation, concert organizers Godzillionare Entertainment have confirmed that American alternative rock band Foo Fighters are heading to Bangkok, though details on the date, venue and ticket prices have yet to be announced.

Founded in Seattle in 1994 by ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have won four Grammy awards and have sold 30 million copies of their albums, including Sonic HighwaysWasting Light and In Your Honor. Some of their biggest hits include "Everlong," "Best of You" and "The Pretender."

The alternative rock band—whose other present members are Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett—announced back in November 2015 that they were going on an indefinite hiatus.

However, now they're primed to make their first appearance in Bangkok since 1996 when they took to the stage at Indoor Stadium Huamark with the Beastie Boys and Sonic Youth.

With the band set to perform at Japan's 2017 Summer Fest on Aug 19-20, it looks likely the concert will take place sometime in the middle of that month.

Stay tuned to BK for more details. Until then, here's some old-school Foo Fighters:
