The buzz: Too many bad experiences with chemical-laced Bangkok hair color treatments have spurred this spa's owner into creating her own salon where almost every product comes from natural-based ingredients. In fact, she's confident enough to promise that products are 95-percent naturally derived, and 60-percent certified organic. But it's not just about hair. The Beauty Library also offers nail treatments with JNA (The Japan Nailist Association) certified manicurists.

The decor: The salon lives up to its name with an almost library-like reception that welcomes customers with a single wall devoted to a floor-to-ceiling book shelf filled with products as well as beauty and health books. It's all very refined but also rather welcoming, with ferns hanging from the ceiling to add a sense of nature to the place. Moving to the salon area, the space radiates cool vibes thanks to the exposed industrial ceiling and blond wood furnishings. Up on the mezzanine is a quiet and relaxing room for mani-pedi services. Move up to the second floor for makeup and eyelash services.

The services: Haircare is really the Beauty Library's specialty, with all programs devised to use as few chemicals as possible. The space actually imports its own haircare products from the British label Organic Colour Systems, which manages to produce dyes that are certified 95-percent naturally derived. Coloring treatment using Organic Colour Systems' products (including the mandatory pre-treatment) sets you back B3,500 for short hair coloring up to B18,000 for a long hair balayage. If you're after a complex shade like ash gray, they'll treat your hair with low-chemical, Japanese-imported Milbon products instead. They also offer digital perms starting from B6,500, a process which temperature-regulation technology for the best results possible. Visit now and you can also make use of this great deal: 30-percent discount for first-time customers, 50-percent discount for pre-color treatment, and free three-hour parking.

What else: For nails, JNA-certified manicurist Kitagawa Michiyo works as the spa's nail adviosr, and has full certification on everything a human needs to know about nail care, and can perform mani-pedis, 3D nail art and extensions. The Beauty Library also offers the Thai Legendary Herbs Hand and Feet Spa, which uses products made out of an ancient palace recipe for waan sao long (a blend of local herbs scientifically proven to have anti-oxidant properties). Treatments cost B1,300, while the Luxurious Hand and Feet Spa by CND costs B1,700. Need eyelash extensions? They're partnered with famous Japanese lash salon Belle Beaute. They also do makeup, massage and waxing (appointment needed).
