Aromdee Art & Studio

A new art studio founded by a Pohchang Academy of Arts jewelry design graduate.

The buzz: This new art studio founded by a Pohchang Academy of Arts jewelry design graduate offers art activities near the On Nut neighborhood. Classes include jewelry design, basic drawing and ceramic workshops.

The decor: The studio takes over the first two stories of an old shop-house in Punnawithi Soi 22. The design is simple with white painted walls decked out with the lecturers’ ceramic works on wooden shelves. The main workshop space is located in the middle with a capacity of 5-6 people per class. Round the back, staff work the kiln to fire your completed masterpieces.

Courses and prices: The focus is on the ceramic courses, which start from B8,000 for a three-day course that runs for three consecutive Saturdays and covers hand molding, painting and glazing. No basic skill needed. The plan is for pottery wheels to be set up on the second floor for an advanced class. The women’s tailoring class covers pattern making, sewing and completing at B7,000 for 45 hours (15 days/3 hours each).

There are also three jewelry workshops: resin technique (2 days, B6,000), metalsmithing (1 day, B1,900), and ceramic technique (2 days, B4,900). Classes are quite flexible in schedule, allowing you to set a personal time with the lecturer between 10am-12:30pm or 1:30-6pm. Not all courses are available all the time, so drop them a Facebook message before booking.
