Smoked

The latest addition to the Rocket empire is a food truck specializing in barbecue.

The latest addition to the Rocket empire sees Lady Brett partner up with entrepreneurs Ratish Sachathamakul and Ramon Narula to take its barbecued bites on the road.

Smoked is a large, fully-equipped, red cow-patterned truck that's they're calling a smokehouse on wheels. Here, group executive chef Patrick Martens plays around with a new barbecue technique: instead of charcoal grilling, he smokes the meat with coconut and oak wood chips at 80-120 degrees Celsius for 8-12 hours.

Options include the pulled pork shoulder (B190) and chopped chicken (B170) sandwiches, served in house-made buns. But our pick would have to be the juicy beef brisket with Southern-style biscuit and onion gravy (B250).

Vegetarians aren't forgotten, either, as the chef also does a sandwich comprising grilled eggplant, garlic aioli, red cabbage and kale slaw, tomato and red onion (B160).

The truck is currently parked in front of the JTC building, Silom Rd., from Mon-Fri, 11am-5pm. Follow the truck's location at www.smokedtruck.com.
