Big voices, "Little Talks."
Bangkok event organizer, The Very Company, have announced that Icelandic indie folk-pop band Of Monsters and Men are coming to town on Jan 12.
After winning an annual music competition held in Iceland in 2009, the five-piece shot to fame with their debut album, My Head Is an Animal (2011), which reached no. 1 in Australia, Iceland and Ireland, no. 3 in the UK and no. 6 on the US Billboard 200 album chart. Its jubilant, foot-stomping lead track "Little Talks" is now a shout-along anthem. They've since played big-name festivals including Lollapalooza, Coachella and Glastonbury, as well as contributing the track "Silhouettes" to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.
They'll take the stage at Lad Phrao's Moonstar Studio 8 with fairytale-infused folk songs like 2013's "Dirty Paws" and recent releases off their 2019 album Fever Dream, such as "Alligator," "Wild Roses" and "Wars." Expect an upbeat mix of acoustic guitars, accordian, trumpets, galloping drums, eclectic percussion and bewitching vocals.
Tickets go on sale on Oct 29, priced at B2,500 via Ticketmelon.
