The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new Virtual Reality campaign it hopes will introduce tourists to authentic Thai local experiences before they visit.

Available to use with or without a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) viewer, the Amazing Thailand VR Experience guides users through three interactive narratives dedicated to Thai heritage and culture.

The first involves practicing some muay Thai boxing moves, learning Wai Kru (the ritual dance perform before the flight) and battling it out in the ring.

The second part is all about Thai textile-making and the stories behind the different fabrics from around the country. You’ll learn how to produce, color and weave fabric into whatever design of cloth you desire.

The final part is dedicated to learning how to grow, harvest and cook jasmine rice, finishing with a game that’ll have you match the rice with traditional dishes of every region in Thailand.

Try out the the VR experience for yourself here.
