Following the huge success of U Chiang Mai in the heart of the old town, the U Hotels brand just opened another big property in the hip Nimmanhaemin district.

U Nimman Chiang Mai (052-005-111, www.unimmanchiangmai.com) features 147 Thai contemporary rooms designed by Thai National Artist Ong-art Satraphan. He’s fused the best of the region’s Lanna heritage with colonial charm, from Northern-style homespun bedheads to walls decorated with curvy Thai architectural motifs.

The location, right opposite Think Park and Maya Mall, means you can binge on coffee at the endless cafes and restaurants nearby, while inside the hotel you’ll find all-day dining restaurant EAT@Rincome, which comes with a terrace bar.

Other highlights include a five-room spa enclave and 180-degree-view rooftop swimming pool overlooking the Rincome Junction with Doi Suthep Mountain in the backdgroud.

Till Oct 31, promotional rates start from B2,526 for a deluxe room. They’ll also offer some one- and two-bedroom suites soon.
