Dusit will expand into Phuket with the opening of dusitD2 Phuket in the central location of Patong Beach, a short walk from the beach, Junceylon shopping and nightlife hot spots. Currently named The Destination Patong Hotel & Spa, the property is scheduled to be officially rebranded as the dusit D2 Hotel on Apr 3. Consisting of 390 rooms and suites, the hotel will be home to a rooftop bar, spa and a Hard Rock Café. Through Aug 31, opening rates start from B2,200 for a deluxe room and B5,200 for a one-bedroom suite without breakfast. Phang Nga has welcomed yet another stylish resort, Le Coral Hideaway Beyond Phuket (076-679-888, www.coralhideaway.com), which just opened its doors on Mar 19. Located on the serene Natai Beach, 30 minutes’ drive from Phuket International Airport, the property consists of 58 rooms ranging from a 52-sq-meter deluxe room to a 300-sq-meter rooftop suite, all offering views of the Andaman Sea. Through Apr 17, it’s offering an opening package at B26,000 per night for at least two nights’ stay in a deluxe pool access room, which has an outdoor rain shower and private Jacuzzi. (The normal rate is B35,000 per night.) The package also includes round-trip airport transfers in a Mercedes-Benz and an island tour that lets you choose from Tachai, Similan and Phi Phi.
