Following in the footsteps of American giants like Target supermarkets in the USA, two Thai resorts have just banned the mass-produced fishies: Kirimaya Golf Resort Spa and Muthimaya Forest Pool Villa Resorts in Khao Yai.

Bill Marinelli, owner of the Oyster Bar (in Bangkok) and importer of Alaskan wild salmon in Thailand, is behind this push.

Farmed salmon has a devastating environmental impact, but also raises health concerns for us humans—the salmons are loaded with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and antibiotics. Alaskan wild salmon, while much more expensive, is also much tastier.
