Vana Nava Hua Hin Water Jungle

Set to open in Hua Hin later this year, Vana Nava Hua Hin Water Jungle (www.vananava.com) is a waterpark set amid lush gardens and featuring numerous rides, attractions, slides and water adventures. The Tropical Jungle zone boasts Thailand’s tallest waterslide, Boomerango, as well as the Abyss, an slide that allows up to six friends to soar from a height of 28 meters. Journey through a landscape of caves, mountains and waterfalls to reach the Wave Pool zone, which features the fast-moving waters of a bodyboard and surf simulator, or the Wild Water zone, where you’ll find the 18-meter Free Fall and the AquaLoop, which reaches speeds of 60km/h.

Best Western Patong Beach

Best Western is expanding in Phuket with the opening in October of its third property on the island, Best Western Patong Beach (076-360-200, www.bestwesternpatongbeach.com). The new hotel is situated 1km from the beach and consists of 224 25-sqm rooms which are all equipped with a 32-inch LCD TV, minibar, coffee maker and free Wi-Fi. Facilities include an infinity-edge swimming pool, fitness center and business suite. An opening rate of B1,999 per night is available through Oct 31.

Khao Yai Floating Market

Run by the same owner as Ayothaya Floating Market in Ayutthaya and Sam Phan Nam Floating Market in Hua Hin, Khao Yai Floating Market (083-373-0262, www.khaoyaifloatingmarket.com) opened in May in Pak Chong district, 35 km from Khao Yai National Park. The spacious two-story market set around an artificial lake is divided into five themed zones: Cowboy, Bank, Train Station, School and The Post. On the top floor are a small farm and flower garden, while on the ground floor yo can find numerous food stalls, restaurants and souvenir shops. Entry is B100 per person. Open daily 8am-6pm.
