For a more romantic way to explore Myanmar, Steam Locomotive Tours (www.myanmarsteamloco.com) have launched a 55km vintage steam-train tour through Mandalay region from Bagan to Kyaukpadaung.

Built in England in the 1940s, the train runs only on Tuesdays at 8am, where it will start accepting passengers at the Bagan station and allow them to enjoy the picturesque rural Mandalay scenery throughout the train ride.

Upon arrival at Kyaukpadaung, you will be able to visit a small village before going to Mt. Popa, a volcano which is also a popular pilgrimage site.

Tickets for the tour cost about B6,500, which includes breakfast and lunch.
