It’s the time of the year when Jim Thompson Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima opens itself to the public for a month.

This year’s event, taking place from now till Jan 8, is called “Kak-Ta-Ta! Phrae-E-Pho! Joyful Pakoma,” and takes inspiration from the multifunctional Thai loincloth deeply rooted in Isaan culture.

The 600-rai farm is split into five zones, including a pumpkin patch, colorful cosmos flower fields, the “U-Pick” organic vegetable garden, and an art installation from reputed Chiang Mai-based artist Navin Rawanchaikul called the Pakoma wind wheel. You can also attend workshops on indigo tie-dye and how to make pha khao ma (checkered Thai loincloth).

Entrance costs B180 for adults and B130 for children on weekdays and B220/B160 on weekends. Prices spike to B280/B180 during the New Year Holiday from Dec 31-Jan 3. Buy your tickets in advance from Thaiticketmajor.com or Jim Thompson shops around Bangkok (goo.gl/HBJmN9).
