A new bar has been set for Hanoi’s luxury hotels, and this time it’s up near the cloud line. Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark 72 (www.intercontinental.com) has opened on floors 62-70 of the Keangnam Landmark Tower, making it the city’s highest hotel.

All 359 rooms, which start at B3,580/night, boast floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing you to make the most of the panorama. The hotel’s location puts it in walking distance of the city’s top attractions, like the Hanoi Museum and the main shopping area.

But maybe you’ll want to stay in and treat yourself at the hotel’s steakhouse, Stella, and chase that meal with a quiet drink up on the 71st-floor lounge.

Fly to Hanoi from Bangkok with AirAsia for around B2,780 for a round trip.
