On first appearances, the newly-opened Manna Noodles and More (www.fb.com/mannanoodles) may look like your typical noodle shop with plain white walls and a sliding glass door. However, locals have been anticipating the opening of this lunch and dinner place for over six years.

Until seven years ago, the owner ran a tiny noodle shop renowned for the taste of its marinated meats and rich broth, before closing it down to follow other endeavors.

Due to popular demand, though, the restaurant recently opened its doors again--this time in a bigger location with a slightly longer menu. By keeping the decor simple and the prices low, the owners say their old customers can relive the restaurant's storied past.

Try the signature noodle soup with marinated pork (B35) or slow-cooked beef (B45), each made according to secret recipes. The dish has been nicknamed kuay tiew luk krung (half-blooded noodles) by fans, due to its particularly herby aftertaste and aroma.

Apart from noodle dishes, standouts on the menu include the signature marinated fried pork (B40) and boiled meats with special dipping sauce (B35-45), while they also sell homemade soft cookies (B10) and brownies (B10), made from scratch by the owner's American wife.
