Those looking for an affordable beach getaway outside of Thailand may want to look to Da Nang, the city in central Vietnam enjoying rapid tourism growth.

One accommodation option is Centara Sandy Beach Resort Danang (bit.ly/2tAB9JP), which recently underwent extensive renovations to welcome new premium ocean-view rooms and suites looking over the East Sea from the coast of Non Nuoc Beach.

The resort's also added Ginger & Lime, a restaurant which serves up Thai, Vietnamese and Asian fusion dishes, as well as two poolside bars that whip up pizzas, gelato and Vietnamese street food to go with the drinks.

While Centara Sandy Beach is situated on a private beach, it is only 20 minutes' away from Da Nang International Airport. Book a month in advance and you get up to 40-percent off the usual room rates, which start at around B3,233/night. There's also a complimentary shuttle service to the popular ancient town of Hoi An, a must-visit.

Direct Bangkok-Da Nang flights in July-August can go as low as B3,400 on AirAsia.
