Away Resorts might just be the busiest hotel brand in Thailand right now. Not weeks after launching the health-obsessed Away Chiang Mai Thapae, they've opened their first property in Kanchanaburi.

If the new Away Kanchanaburi looks familiar, that's because it takes over from the building that was formerly hi-so Bangkokian-fave, the Dheva Mantra.

In rebranding the sprawling, new-colonial resort, they've kept much of the old charm alive, but with heaps of modern tech added in to escalate the comfort.

And in homage to the old resort, they've kept the original name alive in the resort's full moniker: Away Kanchanaburi Dheva Mantra Resort & Spa–long, but informative.

Featuring wood carvings, exquisite artwork and white washed wood reminiscent of colonial houses, the place is elegant in a homey way, while the location by the River Kwai, among the greenery of a tropical forest, makes it the perfect escape.

Then there's Away's trump card: prices. Rooms here start from just B1,901/night.
