It's been a while coming, but the first flight of Air Asia X between Don Mueang and Incheon will take off this June 17 with one flight per day. Plans are also afoot to open two new routes to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka this August.

But just how cheap is it? K-obsessed Thai citizens have been visiting Seoul en-masse for years, so how much can we really expect to save? When we checked their booking website this morning, we could only find a couple of days in July that offered the sale price of B1,990, and the cheapest round trip came in at B7,237. Outside the promotion period of Jun 17, 2014-Apr 30, 2015 (book before May 4), a round-trip will likely set you back around B12,837. This is comparable with Cathay Pacific who offer flights to Seoul at around B14,520 during the same period with the added benefit of more leg room and an in-seat entertainment system.

Thai AirAsia X’s daily flights to Seoul will be operated by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, with a total of 377 seats, 365 of which are economy class, and 12 of which are Premium Flatbed. There's also a Quiet Zone, which will be a child free zone.
