The latest in a line of cool but affordable design hostels sprouting up around Bangkok is located in the old town.

The Ariyarattopas family bought two abandoned shophouses and transformed them into Loftel 22. Designed by Big Dot Architect, this modern Chinese-inspired hostel can accommodate up to 100 guests. Room types span a four-person dorm (female and mixed, B350), a private room for two (with master bed or bunk bed, B850) and a family room which consists of two bunk beds to accommodate a party of four (B1,250).

The on-site coffee shop is also a laidback place to soak up the atmosphere of the historic Talad Noi neighborhood, where photo opportunities abound.
