Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor's long-running industrial rock project, are set to perform in Bangkok for the first time.

Concert organizers Viji Corp (who recently brought The xx to town) made the announcement last night in a post on Facebook:

While no date, venue or ticketing details have been announced, we can expect those to follow on Apr 17.

Formed by multi-instrumentalist Reznor in 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio, Nine Inch Nails rose to acclaim through '90s albums The Downward Spiral (1994) and The Fragile (1999) which blended harsh electronics with angst-ridden lyrics. Backed by hits like "The Day the World Went Away" and "Into the Void," the band has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Despite prolonged periods of inactivity since the project's '90s heyday, Reznor has released eight studio albums under the Nine Inch Nails name, including 2013's Hesitation Marks. The most recent release, recorded as a duo of Reznor and Atticus Ross, was 2017's Add Violence EP.

Some fans will remember that the band had originally been slated to appear at Pattaya's Silverlake Music Festival way back in 2014, before the event was "indefinitely" postponed citing the volatile political situation at the time.
