1. The New Terry Richardson Exhibition

Central Embassy has collaborated with one of the most controversial and admired fashion photographers of the moment, Terry Richardson, whose work has appeared in Vogue and GQ magazines. Currently taking over the mall’s ground floor, the New Neighborhood exhibition doesn’t feature your average celebrities, but instead people who are actually shaping the way people in Bangkok live. Among the 40 names chosen to reflect Central Embassy’s core values of culture, fashion, art, design, music and food, are Lolay Srithongdee, the artist behind some of Bangkok’s most iconic sculptures; Marc Falconi of the legendary Daniel Thaiger burger truck; vintage fashion mogul Prasong Kanhasura of the Bangklyn denim-wear project; and the Sakhahuta sisters of in-demand local fashion brand Sretsis. Even Richardson had amazing things to say about both the project and Bangkok. “To me, it’s similar to New York in the way it has this momentum,” he says in the exhibition’s accompanying video. “It’s been great working here. Bangkok is an awesome city.”

2. Collaborations with World Tastemakers

The New Neighborhood is the latest in a line of collaborations between Central Embassy and the world’s coolest and most creative tastemakers. Even before Central Embassy opened, its billboard designed by legendary Parisian illustrator Pierre Le Tan made clear that this mall was going to do things differently. In the short time it has been open, Embassy has been seriously busy fulfilling that promise. It even launched with a concert by ASAP Rockythe in-demand New York rapper who’s currently working on his second albumattended by over 2,000 of Bangkok’s most influential people. They followed it up late last year with Le Cabinet de Curiosites of Thomas Erber at SIWILAI concept store; a monumental showcase of the world’s finest brands as selected by the French journalist and purveyor of all things cool Thomas Erber. And already this year, Central Embassy has been instrumental in bringing over the Kitsune Parisien Tour, which presented at SIWILAI a selection of limited edition fashion pieces from the music-meets-fashion brand founded by former Daft Punk manager Gildas Loaëc and architect Masaya Kuroki.

3. Hardcover Book Store

This art book shop on the mall’s fourth floor is one of Central Embassy’s hidden gems. Tucked away below Rocket Coffeebar, it’s filled with hard-to-find art books from both local and international publishing houses. But the real highlight is at the back of the shop, where you’ll find the Serindia Gallery ANNEX, home to rotating displays of local and international artists’ work, as well as exhibition catalogues from Bangkok galleries. Be sure to drop by and check out Taschen’s incredible Sumo edition of Annie Leibowitz photographyone of only 10,000 signed and numbered copies.

4. SIWILAI Concept Store

Central Embassy’s flagship store is about much more than just fashion. The 826-sq-meter lifestyle space features non-mainstream designer goods from some of the world’s most progressive brands, including Kitsune, Globe-Trotter and Orlebar Brown. But they also go one step further to make limited-edition collaborations available nowhere else in the world. Right now, be sure to check out the Kitsune x SIWILAI polo shirts and Globe-trotter luggage with SIWILAI-patterned lining.

5. Local Design

From furniture to fashion, Central Embassy makes plenty of space for the work of local designers. One of our favorite spaces is Room Concept Store, the design-focused interior space featuring the work of cutting-edge Thai brands including Studio TwoFourEight furniture and Grey Ray stationery. Also don’t miss THAITHAI, the showcase of Thai brands taking place in the vestibule between Central Embassy and its neighbor mall, Central Chidlom.
