Think Space B2S

Take your love for books and stationery to the next level at the ginormous Think Space B2S at Central Festival EastVille. Modeled after Taipei's famed Eslite bookstore, it's not only is it way, way bigger than any other B2S store around Bangkok, but also has way more variety. Regular aisles make way for wide, open spaces lined with great walls of books—including loads more English titles than normal. Meet up with your friends and colleagues at the second-story co-working space, work alone at the solo high stools, equipped with power outlets and lamps, or check out the selection of chic stationery and furniture items. The entertainment zone is also to die for, with a vast selection of CDs, DVDs, and (yay!) vinyl. There are even audio systems and earphones on display. Workshops are available from time to time—check their Facebook page (www.fb.com/thinkspaceb2s) for updates.

Papersmith by Booksmith

Just launched last week, Papersmith by Booksmith is the first outpost bookstore in Bangkok by the team behind Booksmith, Chiang Mai's much loved independent store that's expanded quite a bit across the northern city over the last few years. This sleek Bangkok branch takes up just one room, but it focuses more on bringing in art, design and fashion magazines that are more difficult to find. Similarly priced as the larger stores, titles include the links of Kinfolk, The Monocle, Cereal all the way through Frankie, *Wallpapper and Vogue, with some typology and architectural hardcover books to be found too. While the range is a little limited at the moment, the owners say that they also accept pre-orders of other titles currently not available in Thailand.

2/F, Gaysorn Plaza, 999 Phloen Chit Rd., 087-006-5884 Opens daily 10am-8:30pm BTS Chit Lom
