Japan, that land of functional food, is the inspiration for a new monthly dinner series dubbed Probiotic Chef’s Table.

Takashi Hirasawa, founder of Bangkok health-food supplier Lacto-Life,  teams up with chef Bunn “Ik” Borriboon, of Iron Chef fame, to offer five courses rich with the kind of good bacteria and yeasts (think yogurt, cheese and kombucha) that strengthen your immune system.

The next gathering takes place on May 5, limited to only 10 diners at lunch (B1,900) or dinner (B3,000). Following a fresh and fermented theme, your meal’s kept a bit of a secret but you can expect cured salmon and silky tofu panna cotta. The next round is on Jun 2.
