Since arriving in Bangkok two years ago, trusted Indian chain The Great Kabab Factory has forged a reliable reputation for its all-you-can-eat set menus.

Now it's venturing into a la carte territory with a menu of kababs that show off unfamiliar presentation. Chef Mahesh Thapa rolls out the likes of the atta chicken (B550), a marinated half chicken on bone which is baked in a dough case, the char mirch ka salmon tikka (salmon chunks, marinated in four chilies, B500) served on scallop shells with pebbles and other seashells, and the haryali phool-e-gulistan (cheese and cream-marinated broccoli, B290), served skewered in a pot with coal.

The menu also spans curries (from B280), biryani (from B290) and breads, plus desserts like the assorted kulfi (Indian ice cream, B145), which even features a paan (betel leaf wrap) flavor.
