Next Sunday (Sep 3), Sukhumvit Soi 47's Australian restaurant Freebird will throw a garden party to celebrate its first birthday.

Starting from noon and continuing till late, the party will take the form of a laid-back barbecue with dishes like grilled salted pork served with grain mustard, fried wings with barbecue sauce, wet brined chicken with yoghurt and spice.

On top of the outdoor barbecue smoker, the kitchen will also whip up a menu like poached whole side of Norwegian salmon with fennel and wakame salad, prawn cocktail with gem lettuce or Penne salad with peas and hammock.

The price for free-flow food is B1,550 per person or it's B2,500 to get free-flow alcohol covering wine, beer and cocktails, as well as mocktails.

Freebird was one of Bangkok's biggest restaurant openings of 2016. Chic yet relaxed, on-trend yet original, the restaurant sits in a mid-century modern house and introduced the city to what it calls modern Australian cuisine—that is, a blend of Western and Asian cooking methods and umami-packed ingredients.
