Mamarin

These could be Ekkamai's most addictive noodles.
These could be Ekkamai's most addictive noodles.

Taking over part of a spacious, blue house deep inside Ekkamai Soi 15, Mamarin dishes out steaming bowls of noodles made in the Ban Bueng style from Chonburi.

The noodles are renowned for two things: a mellow, "surf and turf" soup derived from pork bone and dried shellfish, and toppings like a variety of tender pork, fish balls and entrails.

A bowl starts at just B79 for plain ones or B99 for yentafo (pink soybean noodle soup) that comes with a satisfyingly crunchy shrimp fritter

However, we recommend swapping out the noodles for fish dumplings (B109 for plain, B129 for yen ta fo), whose dense texture and fresh flavor put other noodle stalls to shame.

Fun fact: You might recognize the owner—Uthai "Cake" Poonyamund shot to fame as the singer of Bakery Music's '00s romantic-pop band B5.
