BANGKOK RESTAURANT

Charm

Southeast Asian favorites, joined by Thai and Isaan staples.

Newly arrived at Emquartier, Charm rolls out a long list of dishes from around Southeast Asia, plus some familiar Thai and Isaan staples.

Highlights include Malaysia's nasi lemak (scented rice cooked in coconut milk served with crispy anchovies and peanut with chicken [B350], beef or lamb [both B380]), the Singaporean soup ba-kuh-te ("meatbone tea," B380) and chef Chalee Kader's aromatic chicken biryani (B320).

On the sweet side, there's a wide range of shaved ice with a selection of Thai tea or Pinky Milk syrups (B240), along with all-you-can-eat additions like palm seed in syrup, pomegranate seeds and grass jelly, as well as kaya toast with pandan custard topped with vanilla ice-cream (B240).

Drinks cover smoothies, wine (from B320/glass, B1,200/bottle) and some pretty intriguing mocktails like the Phnom Penh (B180), mangosteen juice fused with brown sugar and topped with brie cheese.
