A hub for Bangkok’s cycling community, this cafe at the eastern edge of Thammasat University does a mean espresso affogato (coffee shot over a scoop of ice cream, B90) among other coffees and treats.

Ong Tea

This second branch of the establishment near the giant swing focuses on high-quality tea sourced from rare locations in China, Taiwan and Japan. They also have seasonal tea such as longjing (Chinese green tea) and lishan (Taiwanese oolong tea). Tea sets starts from B200-350. Takeaway packs available as 80g and 120g (B650-2,700).

This cute, small Japanese place is serious enough to adjust the hardness of water to match the selection of Ceylon tea (B140/pot). The cafe also has plentiful baked items like scones (B55).

This slightly shady spot is a rarity in this town. Don’t leave without ordering a strong Ethiopian coffee (B100), a real ceremony to be savored with its accompanying burning incense and snack of lightly roasted barley and peanuts.

Ceresia

The Thai-Venezuelan roaster sells single origin and blended coffee from all over the world. Filter starts at B95 while espresso is B70. Or take home their freshly roasted beans from B480/250g. They have another branch in Soi Sala Daeng.

Roast remains high on most brunch-goers’ checklists; on top of the great coffee, the menu packs genuine crowd-pleasers like the crab cake Benedict (B350).

Amatissimo Cafe

This new Brave Roasters outlet has a little coffee corner with a very short menu. Get an espresso at B90 or a filter at B130. Though the roaster has relocated to here, you can still find his beans at One Ounce for Onion in Ekkamai and I+D Style Café in Siam.
