Not content with its pink and aqua takeover of Bad Motel’s second floor, Blaq Lyte has expanded to the rooftop with an open-air bar that will give dancers some breathing room.

The new bar has the same drinks menu but a tucked-away mood, stationed as it is above the raging night club and bustling Thonglor Road.

The music upstairs is still hip-hop, but of the mellow variety, the likes of Frank Ocean or Daniel Caeser, whose sweet tunes are best appreciated al fresco.

BK voted Blaq Lyte the Best New Bar of 2017 at this year’s B.A.D. Awards. The club is heavy on neon and modern hip-hop, attracting the sort of crowd that uses words like “lit” and “turnt” in real-life conversation. However, Blaq Lyte is a nightclub with a difference: it also raises money for owner Nick Supreda’s orphan charity, 32 Foundation (read our interview here).
