Roof by Muse Thonglor

Thonglor Soi 10, 087-888-5599
This lovely rooftop bar, located in the middle of Thonglor Soi 10, always likes to keep things fresh and interesting, especially on the food front. Following the oyster promotion last month, the bar embraces Euro 2012 with its daily specials menu, featuring dishes related to the countries playing that day. So if you come to cheer on England on one of the two big screens, then you can also enjoy a plate of fish n’ chips at the same time, as well as the usual chill alfresco vibe.

Sambal Bar & Grill

The Royal Orchid Sheraton, Charoen Krung Soi 30, 02-266-9214
This riverside bar and restaurant in a hotel might not be an obvious spot to catch the big match but it’s got a few tricks up its sleeve along with its impressive setting. The food is an interesting mix of spicy Malaysian and Indonesian dishes that go well with their signature cocktails and wide range of imported beers, both on tap and by the bottle. Even better, the bar will be extending its opening hours to make sure you can catch all of the later games, which is good to know seeing as these matches won’t be kicking off until at least 1:45am.

Hippie De Bar

46 Khaosan Rd., 02-629-3508
If you want to soak up a more European vibe then you can always head along to the cosmopolitan backpacker hub of Khao San. It’s also home to one of our favorite watering holes, Hippie De Bar, with its old-house charm, good selection of alternative music and the huge screen showing the games out on the terrace. Reservations are definitely recommended, though, as the place always gets packed. Still you’re in the right neighborhood if you can’t get a seat, as the many bars in the area will be showing the matches on big screens.

Brew Beer n’ Cider

SeenSpace, Thonglor Soi 13. 02-185-2366
This tiny bar in Seenspace just keeps on expanding out across the central outdoor courtyard of this community mall. The popularity is clearly down to the impressive (and regularly changing) range of imported beers, which makes it the perfect spot to drink along with the individual matches. Why not try out the new arrivals Köstritzer and Bitburger while cheering Germany on in their opening match this Sat (Jun 9) or choose between France’s Kronenburg and Britain’s London Pride during their clash on Monday (Jun 11).

Asiatique

Asiatique The Riverfront, 2194 Charoenkrung 72-74 Rd., 02-108-4005
It’s new and it’s hot, and if you live in the neighboring area, then you might not want to head too far from home because of the late kick off times. Why not just stroll along to Checkmate Bar & Bistro (Room E01) for some Thai-international fusion, a live band and draught beer; or head to the second branch of the Flann O’Brien’s Irish Pub (Warehouse no. 10) for a more international touch.

Beer Vault

G/F, Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 15, 02-309-3113.
This tiny hotel bar is famed for its daily beer o’ clock (5:30-7:30pm) offering buy-one-get-one-free on local beers, and the special deal on their “beer lovers’ list” (daily through 9:30pm) which changes each month. During this soccer season, Guinness, Hoegaarden, Boddingtons, Leffe Brune, Stella and Singha are all B165 per pint (B120 for a half-pint). Plus, the bar has extended its closing hours to match the late night kick offs.

Decanter

12/F The St. Regis Bangkok 159, Ratchadamri Rd., 02-207-7801.
Located on the 12th floor of the five star St. Regis Hotel, this 1920s inspired wine bar is also getting in on the Euro experience with a special deal. B950 gets you two Carlsberg beers and an antipasti buffet including sausages and cold cuts. Available for every game from 10pm-3am starting this weekend, Jun 8, and running throughout the competition. For reservations, call 02-207-7801.
