This is not your average "floating restaurant."

Reported to be launching in Bangkok this December, Dinner in the Sky (dinnerinthesky.com) sees 22 diners strapped to their seats around a dining table that's hoisted 50 meters above the city.

According to the Bangkok Post, the spectacle will take place at Sukhumvit's EM District mall, with "world-famous chefs" invited to take part.

Additionally, travel blogger Richard Barrow reports that dinner will cost an estimated B4,900 per person, and after Bangkok the event will move onto various tourist locations around Thailand.

Operating in over 45 countries around the world, Dinner in the Sky is a Belgian-born collaboration between a gourmet consultancy and a firm that specializes in amusement park installations.

Dinner usually lasts about an hour, with two dining sessions per evening.
