Asia’s premier gin festival, the East Imperial Gin Jubilee, is coming to Bangkok for the first time this Jan 31-Feb 4

Now in its fifth year, this Singapore-born celebration of all things gin will see separate events take place in Auckland, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh over the coming months, as well as Bangkok and Singapore.

Bangkok can expect five days of workshops, guest bartenders and masterclasses at bars across the city.

In addition, 17 of these bars, including heavy-hitters like Hyde & Seek, Teens of Thailand, Bronx Liquid Parlour, Track 17 and Tep Bar, will compete for the title of Bangkok's best gin and tonic. The winner will be announced on Feb 4 at the "Gin Lane" closing party held at Quaint (23 Sukhumvit Soi 61, 02-714-1998), which will feature a variety of pop-up bars from the world's top gin brands. The event will be free entry with all drinks priced at B200.

Among the highlight events are a gin and tonic masterclass with Fords Gin at 80/20 (Feb 1), Sipsmith gin lunch at Bamboo Bar (Feb 4) and a Botanical Gin and Jazz Night at Mikys (Feb 3). You can expected plenty of unofficial gin-fueled events on the side, too.
