Funky Burger on Waiting So Long Before Releasing Their Single and Why They Love to Dance

BK: How did you guys come together?
Chai:
We didn’t play together at first. I had my own band with friends, while Chai, Tong and Ball were playing together. We always met each other when playing at pubs in Chonburi, which is our hometown.

Chef Ian Kittichai on Why Culinary School is a Waste of Time and How He Used to Hate Cooking

I came from a big family, and we all had certain roles we had to perform. My dad sold insurance, my sisters sold soy milk outside our grocery stall and I had to go with mom to the market.
After school I used to push a cart selling curry around the streets. Then I had to make belts for my uncle until midnight. We had to work 365 days a year.
I used to hate cooking as a child. I never had a chance to think about what I really wanted to do.

Taxi Drivers Face Issues Too

Recent protests by the city’s cabbies have once again put taxis, drivers and their rates at the top of conversations. We love to hate our cabbies: the ones that don’t use a meter, don’t go to the suburbs, stink, grumble or worse. But what about the guys behind the wheel? What are their lives like? Read on to find out.

From mature flick to rom com, Thanwarin talks about her new project Hak Na Sarakham

I was kind of a scaredy cat. As a child, I was very well-behaved and really obeyed my elders. I still don’t know how to ride a bicycle because my mom was afraid I would get hurt.
I felt like a girl ever since I was little. I liked wearing my mom’s clothes, liked her heels and playing with dolls. I even had a crush on a tomboy in sixth grade. She looked like she could protect me.

All Ears: This Month’s Hottest Thai Tunes

Song: “Goodbye Bangkok”
Artist: Zero Hero Feat. Poomjit
Label: Lemon Factory
Zero Hero’s debut album Man Man is pure Thai rock n’ roll, and reminds us of the old band Sip Lor led by Hugo. After releasing the first promo single “Supan,” the fun continues with “Goodbye Bangkok,” which takes a sarcastic look at the craziness of life in Bangkok.

The Begins on Their New Single and Musical Dreams

BK: How did you guys come together?
Tong:
I wanted to create a band like the Bee Gees. I love the way they sing together. No one leads anyone. Thailand didn’t have this kind of band yet, so I talked to Boyd Kosiyabong and he supported us. We tried to find good male singers with beautiful voices and we found Sean, Wut, Mhai and Kevin, who is American. He used to play with bands in the US—Ashanti, Backstreet Boys—and in Japan; and then us.
