In case you didn't know, big-name DJs Diplo and Afrojack ravaged Bangkok last night (Jun 9) on opposite ends of the city's party scene (Sukhuvit Soi 11 and RCA). Although we'd seen him here several times before (remember the Major Lazer gig late last year?), we decided to go check out Philly DJ/producer Diplo--because we wanted to hear "Pon De Floor" (sampled in Beyonce's latest single "Run the World") being played live, and mainly Sukhumvit 11 was a little easier to get to from our office.

Despite the rain, Bed Supperclub was packed with a heaving, sweaty crowd. Staying true to his GQ-esque flair, the BlackBerry presenter took to the decks dressed like he had, as one of the partygoers pointed out, "just come from the office." The poor dude eventually had to take the jacket off and rolled up his shirtsleeves as things got more intense. The climax was definitely when he put on "Pon De Floor," which brought the roof down--naturally.

All in all, Diplo did a preditcably awesome job of keeping the crowd stoked throughout the gig. He's definitely not one of those DJs who completly ignores his audiences. Plus his male model-like aura was thoroughly appreciated by screaming female (and some male) fans.

If anyone went to see Afrojack, we'd love to hear your thoughts and compare notes.

Want more DJ goodness? Fat Boy Slim is playing tonight, followed by Flo Rida who, by the way, is still coming to Bangkok tomorrow night (Jun 11) despite his drunk driving debacle yesterday in Miami. Party on!
