This Saturday (Apr 18) marks Record Store Day, an international event held annually to celebrate the culture of independently owned record stores. This year, there are a couple of ways Bangkok crate-diggers can get in on the action, too.

Record Store Day Thailand 2015 is a one-day event aiming to gather record lovers to meet and shop. Hosted by the online record store Vinyl Feeling, co-owned by DJ Nanziee (resident at Sugar Ray, Moose and Hyde and Seek Peek-a-Boo), the event will take place at the vast parking space inside Narathiwas Soi 7 (BTS Chong Nonsi) on Sat, Apr 18 from 2-9pm.

The parking lot will converted into be record-focused flea market where DJ Nanziee and his DJ friends like the Vacancy crew will spin their collection of old-school hip hop, soul, funk and the oldies tunes, while you browse for vinyl. There will also be live painting from Goja artists, as well as food and booze booths.

Market-goers are encouraged to bring their own favorite records to spin (you can book a slot on one of the turntables) or swap, too.

Vinyl Feeling is an online record store specializing in hip hop, old-school r n’ b and 90s music. Visiting the shop is by appointment only. Follow them via fb.com/VinylFeeling

Elsewhere on Saturday, Thonglor's 1979 Vinyl & Unknown Pleasures will team up with Bungkumhouse Records to celebrate Record Store Day with special discount items, guest DJs playing their beloved records, and special record booths from local labels. Open 1-9pm.
