MARKETS: Zaap on Sale

Get ready for the elusive winter breeze at this edition of Zaap on Sale, which returns under the theme of “Neon Winter” and gathers a whopping 500 brands from the online world to set up camp for one weekend. ART: Whether it is Art or Not

Three local artists present their documentary film and book capturing the life and works of 77-year-old Thai contemporary artist Chavalit Soemprungsuk, the first Thai artist to have received an award from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in Amsterdam after the success of his abstract paintings.

NIGHTLIFE: Lush Bangkok Music Festival

An electronic music festival that will take over five floors of a hotel, including dancefloors in the grand reception hall and massive stages throughout, plus an indoor market and art installations spread across the space. Expect music from 32 DJs across 7 zones, plus live bands like Degaruda, Stylish Nonsense and the Sangsom Massacre.

ART: Awkward Relationship 

Young Thai illustrator Tae Yarvit presents a collection of playfully nuanced sketches depicting stories from his personal life, with the opening night featuring experimental music from Stylish Nonsense, Plern Pan Perth and DJ MM Kosum.

GIGS: Hed Sod 4 Concert by Fungjai

Indie music streaming service Fungjai returns with the fourth edition of the live concert series, this time featuring quality indie Thai bands including Chanudom, Mattnimare, Rasmee, The Yers, 7thScene and Greasy Cafe.

SPECIAL SCREENINGS: Mama Rainbow

Jam welcomes Chinese filmmaker and activist Fan Popo to host a special screening of his 2012 documentary Mama Rainbow, which follows six Chinese mothers who have experienced their children coming out as homosexualt. There will be an open discussion about the film with Fan Popo following the screening. Free entry.

ART: Ratchaprasong Art Maze

One of the city’s main skywalks turns into an art hot spot for a month-long exhibition dubbed Ratchaprasong Art Maze: Urban By Nature. Expect work from top Thai contemporary artists to transform the urban space with nature-inspired installations to add a touch of green to your Siam walk.

SPORTS: The Color Run

"The Happiest 5k on the Planet" returns to Bangkok, this year under a tropical theme, where Color Runners will make their way to a finish-line party while being splashed with colored powders. Ticket includes a limited edition Tropicolor T-shirt, an embroidered headband, a finisher’s medal with floral lanyard and color packets and tattoos. Don't forget to stick around for the after party that promises live music and even more color throws.

OUT OF TOWN: Karma Kamp

A 24-hour musical voyage into the wilderness held at a secret location in Saraburi province. The lineup features Marine Caillat, Unda, Pyra, Harrington, Nemo Cools, Boris Rubin, Dylan Griffin, James What, Dan Buri, Sunju Hargun, Superstar Panda and Nosleep Crew.

NIGHTLIFE: Kolour Warehouse Project

One of the city's most popular party organizers returns with their biggest indoor event yet in the form of a 10-hour day and night party set in a modern industrial warehouse. Expect both local and international DJs to take over the outdoor and indoor stages alongside plenty of craft beer in spirit of Oktoberfest. As with all Kolour events, the location still remains a mystery.

WHY NOT: Big Food – For the Love of Food (and Drinks)

Celebrate World Food Day with some of the most innovative culinary talents in the city from restaurants like Bo.Lan, Seven Spoons, Le Du and Gula gather to serve their best dishes. There also promises to be plenty of craft beers, live music and fun activities to complete the day. All proceeds will be donated to the "Trees and Bees, please" agroforestry project in Nepal.

STAGE: Bangkok Theatre Festival

For 14 years, this festival has drawn in more performers, directors and theater lovers than any other theater event in the country. This year, the BTF joins forces with Thong Lor Art Fest's Low Fat Art Fest to bring a total of 60 stage performances scheduled across the 16 days including mime acts, contemporary dance, dramatic plays, experimental performances and much more.
