Last week, Central Embassy joined forces with Facebook to host “InstaMeet”, an event gathering avid Instagram users from across Bangkok to show off their photography skills inside its sixth floor “co-living” space, Open House. Under the theme “This Brings Me Here”, guests were encouraged tell the story of how they arrived at the event using images that highlighted their unique personalities.

To mark the occasion, Central Embassy transformed the Art Tower at Open House into an Instagram-focused photography den called the Zero Gravity Room. Designed to help facilitate creativity, the redesigned space features chairs and tables attached to its walls to create the illusion of zero gravity while standing inside—it will remain until Sept 3. Visitors will have the chance to win one of 50 swanky Open House tote bags by posting pictures to Instagram and using the hashtag #ZeroGravityBringsMeHere while mentioning @centralembassy.

Part of the event included a speech by internationally renowned photographer Chanipol “Tum” Kusocharttum, who boasts more than 122,000 followers on Instagram. Tum shared his photography experiences with the crowd and spilled some secrets on how to leverage powerful social media platforms to showcase their work.

For Facebook’s part, Kanyanat “Natty” Piticharoen (senior account manager at Facebook’s Singapore office) gave participants insights into what it’s like to work there, trending social media behaviors and some interesting facts about Instagram that most users didn’t know.

Open House, 6/F, Central Embassy, Phloen Chit Rd., BTS Phloen Chit.
