Bangkok’s 16th International Festival of Dance & Music kicks off this week--here are the highlights

The Thailand Cultural Centre is fully booked this month and next as it plays host to various performances by renowned performers, bands and dance companies arriving from all over the world. 


Grand Opening Show of The Comedy Club Bangkok

The new comedy venue officially opens its doors with this show headlined by famous LA-based Scottish stand-up comedian Luke Ashlocke, who won the Best Actor award for his role in Vicky and Sam at the London Film Festival. He will be joined by local stand-up acts.

Baroque Me Baby

At this mini gig, Jacopo Gianninoto will perform alongside Alberto Firrincieli and Luca Chiavinato, using rare instruments such as spinetta (a small harpischord), Baroque and Renaissance lute and guitar.

Betty Rocks Bangkok II

The WWII-themed bar hosts the second installment of this rock music event, kicking off with The Layers before The Sangsom Massacre and Deadtown Trash take to the stage.

One of Italy’s most renowned and oldest private opera companies, Teatro Lirico Italiano, stages the world premiere of the new two-act opera Don Giovanni, based on fictional libertine and seducer Don Juan, with music by Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte.
