The two floors of the Luxx XL Hotel will be fully booked this week, as galleries like Whitespace, 100 Tonson, Gallery Ver and Speedy Grandma each take over one of the rooms, transforming it into an arty den. The second edition of the much-anticipated art fair by the Farmgroup will also shine a light on fresh design studios like C.A.P., Studio 56 and If I Were a Carpenter.

 


MAB: Music and Art Fest at BACC No. 3 [POSTPONED]

The decade-long battle to have a city art center may be now a distant memory, but we're still mighty grateful for the presence of the white sentinel-like Bangkok Art and Culture Center standing tall amid Siam's malls. This weekend will probably be one of the BACC's liveliest yet, as artists and bands head down for the big outdoor festival. Shop for handicrafts, food and art while listening to the likes of Desktop Error, Yellow Fang and Si Tao Ter.

Revered Japanese artist Mai Nakabayashi demonstrates how you can deliver a performance following a six-step process, accompanied by the Thai Classical Band and lighting by Go Ueda, at The Space Bangkok.

Film fans and design devotees rejoice as the Movies on Design screenings return this week at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC). Held as part of Bangkok Design Festival 2014, the event screens five feature documentaries about design and creativity, containing renowned designers, thinkers and critics.
 
 


The Physicist
