MARKETS: Artbox BKK Ep. 4: When I Was Young

The huge outdoor container market returns to the lawn of the Airport Link station with a nostalgic theme, promising 300 stalls of Thai fashion, accessories, handmade crafts, a food and drink zone, and live music stage. This edition will feature an art exhibition by Bangkok-based artists too.

ART: Missing Links

A two-part exhibition that explores issues of modernization, industralization, urbanization and migration in Southeast Asia, featuring videos, moving images and time-based artworks. This Friday is the last day of the first part of the exhibition -Modernization and Urban Condition, which features work by artists from Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos. Part 2: Diaspora and Identity features work from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia and runs from Aug 1-Oct 31.

ART: Womb: The Art of Fabrics

If you missed this exhibition during the last edition of the Silom-Charoenkrung Gallery-hopping night at the end of June, this Friday is the last day for you to catch the exhibition by Ploenchan “Mook” Vinyaratn, graduate of London’s Central Saint Martins college, who opens her first solo textile exhibition, which combines mixed media elements, hand-weaving and embroidery techniques. Inspired by the ultrasound images and recordings of her pregnancy.

For a more lively art-time, check out this colorful, pop-surrealism exhibition of a girl named Modaka, inspired by Venus of Willendorf, which signifies fertility, the beauty of women, love and happiness on earth. Created by local artist Moka, at People's Gallery (2/F).

TALKS: BACC Art Talk 2015

This year’s BACC Art Talk 2015 will take place on Aug 1 at 2pm, featuring internationally-recognized, Thai contemporary dance choreographer Pichet Klunchun, who will discuss the importance of art as social welfare. Over 150 stalls of food, drinks and fashion items by local celebrities and Instagram stores across the football grounds at Arena 10, plus live performances by indie bands Sukhumvit 66, Hit The Road and Nap a Lean.

ART: Pananampalataya

A documentary exhibition by Filipino photographers Jose Enrique Soriano, Veejay Villafranca, Jake Verzosa, Carlo Gabuco and Jes Aznar who attempt to capture the Filipino world-view as molded by Hispanic and Christainized influences. An artists' talk takes place on Aug 2. There will also be a popup store selling prints and photobook collections by Imprenta Manila. Part of PhotoBangkok 2015 Festival.

ART: Change Is

A free public art exhibition by SC Asset, touching on the concept of "change" through the eyes of five artists and photographers: Chut Janthachotibutr (Rex photo exhibition), Note Pongsuan Dudesweet (live painting on Aug 1-3 between 3-6pm), O Terawat (analog stop motion on Aug 10-14 from 7-11pm), Toey Suthipa (pencil layering) and Slow Motion (marble art).

THEATER & DANCE: Cirque Du Soleil Quidam Live in Bangkok 2015

This is the last weekend for you to catch the world's most legendary circus in Thailand. This edition of the show takes you into the imaginary world of Zoey, a girl who wishes to escape her mundane daily life. Expect acrobatic artistry from over 100 performers along with exceptional sound and stage production. Eleven rounds of performances, with 4:30pm rounds from Jul 30-Aug 2.
