THEATER: Crossing Nirvana

Veteran actor Sornchai Chatwiriyachai presents his first original play, opening this Friday, with an experienced cast, bringing together Shylock from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and a notorious Thai financier in a story that looks at societal pressures and justice.

ART: Writing Piece Performance

Conceptual multimedia artist Shelbatra Jashari will sit in the middle of the art space at Speedy Grandma for three hours without moving, inviting the audience to take part by drawing, writing, or repositioning her limbs.

The shopping malls are moving in on our weekend markets. On Feb 28-Mar 1, the courtyard in front of CentralWorld turns into the latest edition on Thank God it’s Flea Market, promising over two hundred tents offering the latest fashion items by premium local brands and Instagram shops. There’ll also be 40 food stalls including some of our favorites, like Daniel Thaiger, Bao & Buns, Chu and Salapao Ko Ouan.

The last winter-fest of the season takes over the central lawn of the National Gallery from 4:30pm onwards this Feb 28. ART: Eastreet - A Curators talk and screening on Eastern European Street Photography

Tomasz Kulbowski and Aleksander Bochenek, curators of Eastreet Exhibition, an initiative to present portrait art in public spaces in Eastern Europe, will be at Cho Why to present a special screening of the exhibition, with a Q&A session afterwards. B100 entry.

Soy Sauce Factory hosts a special charity night in collaboration with Jungle Aid, with DJ sets, food, and photography. Weekend getaways raffle prizes to be won. DANCE: Toshiki Okada x Tomoko Soda x Pichet Klunchun

The Thai contemporary dance master collaborates with two Japanese artists on a number originally performed at Kobe-Asia Contemporary Dance Festival #3 under the theme "My Home is Shivering and Changing (or is it Me and my Body Wriggling?)" This edition will be adapted for the Thai social context, spanning over the weekend at Chang Theater.
