The Bangkok Chefs Charity Gala Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental has long been the fanciest date in the Bangkok foodie calendar.

For one night only (Jul 18), 21 chefs from all the top hotels come together to whip up a 10-course feast of premium produce all in aid of under-privileged children living on the Northeastern border and in the remote Omkoy district of Chiang Mai.

Tickets are sold as 10-person tables, with each seat costing B12,500, and they always go quickly.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presides over the whole thing, including the highlight charity auction, where bidders open their checkbooks to get the chefs to come and cook a personal dinner for their friends.
