If you’re worried about being single, you’re not alone. More than 20% of women living in Bangkok are single and more depressingly, people over 40 tend to be single for the rest of their lives, according to a special report by the National News Bureau of Thailand. Divorce rates doubled from 50,000 in 1993 to 100,000 in 2009 and people shy away from marriage. What does that mean? Less kids and less families: in 30 years the birth rate per mother dropped from six to 1.5, and the nuclear family population dropped from 70% to 53%.
