Taking place Sep 5, 2017 inside the Plaza Athenee Bangkok’s Crystal Hall, the MICE Sustainability Forum 2017 aims to provide guidance on how business event operators can adopt sustainable practices in line with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

After the success of the previous year’s forum, with over 300 attendants from more than 100 different organizations, this year’s MICE Sustainability Forum returns with four key lessons: sustainability marketing, driving sustainability demand, integrating sustainability into events and navigating the UN’s sustainability goals. There will also be a range of additional discussions exploring topics such as cautious planning, smart design, reusable materials, waste management and food waste prevention.

Sustainability Marketing

This session aim to educate entrepreneurs about developing effective communication skills to help encourage activities and ideas involving sustainable practices. Key areas of focus will be marketing and branding.

Driving Sustainability Demand

Participants will hear from demand drivers of sustainable products and services. There will be a series of talks from experienced event organizers, entrepreneurs and members of government offering insider information on how to make these social and eco-friendly services attractive.

Integrating Sustainability into Your Events

This is an opportunity to exchange ideas with other internationally recognized entrepreneurs—people with renowned reputations for providing sustainable products and services. This dialog is intended to help participants plan future strategies for business growth, bounce ideas off one another and gain valuable expert opinions in an engaging setting.

Navigating the SDGs

Last year, the MICE Sustainability Forum introduced the concepts and principles behind the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This go around, the conference is offering a series of sessions explaining how these principles can be applied to real-world business practices. Learn how to take your entrepreneurial ideas and build them around a sustainable framework.

This year’s forum is not just for Thai MICE members or business people looking to develop ideas. Anyone who is interested in sustainability is encouraged to attend—particularly those interested in sustainable economics, both on a micro and macro level.

SPECIAL HIGHLIGHT:

Among the many special highlights at this year’s forum is the opportunity to witness what a 90-percent-wasteless and zero-carbon event looks like. These events are achieved through five key initiatives: cautious planning, smart design, reusable materials, waste management and food waste prevention. Attendees at this year’s forum will not only be able to see these principles in action, but also learn how to successfully implement them from leading industry experts.
