After installing the Pun Pun bike share network (www.punpunbikeshare.com) nearly two years ago, the BMA has stepped up their attempts to persuade Bangkokians to ride their bikes by introducing monthly lessons under the banner of "Sanook Ru Kab PunPun" [Fun to Learn with Pun Pun].

The training team from We Ride For Fun (www.facebook.com/werideforfun) aim to boost confidence among newbies who may feel reluctant to hit the not-so-open road and will teach all the road safety rules, including how to read traffic signs and use hand gestures. They will also teach you about bicycle parts and easy ways to fix your ride should something go wrong.

This once-a-month event will kick off this Friday, April 25 at 4pm at BMA head office at Larn Khon Muang (Giant Swing) in the Rattanakosin area with officers taking participants on a ride around Sanamluang. Participants can bring along their own bicycles or borrow from the Pun Pun stations nearby.

Future events will be held on May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15 and Sep 19. Call the Pun Pun hotline on 087-029-8888 for more.

The BMA also plans to expand the Pun Pun network to more stations around the city, but no definitive timeframe has been set.
