  • The 5 best reasons to wear your swimsuit in Bangkok this summer

1. W Bangkok’s pool party

The hip hotel brings back its annual Songkran pool party, with this year’s edition under a tropical theme. Expect music from DJs Mendy Indigo, Orawan, Arun and Kurrypup on the wet deck from afternoon till evening.

2. The new Vick's Weekend line and the new Timo Trunks

Bangkok brands have been going crazy for swimwear recently, and here are two of our favorites. For women, Vick’s Weekend’s brings back vintage-style cotton spandex with its striped one-pieces and high-waist bikinis in pastel colors. The always on-point Timo has also launched its latest range of playful prints, this time called Jamie and with a wavy red-and-blue vibe.
Vick’s Weekend is available at Ari Soi 2 or online at www.vicksweekend.com.
Timo is available at the Selected, 3/F, Siam Center or online at www.timotrunks.com

3. Flowhouse is back with a big Songkran bash

Bangkok’s wave simulation waterpark is back on operation and throwing a big Songkran bash this Apr 13-15. Though the flow-riding session’s don’t come for free, there is a three-day promo throughout Songkran at B1,800 that includes nine hours of flow-riding and 10 beers—yours to use up throughout the three-day period.

4. gCircuit

Bangkok’s biggest annual gay Songkran party returns to take over the city with three dance parties and two pool parties (one especially for the ‘bear’ kind!). Expect plenty of EDM beats and a wet, shirtless crowd. What better time to show off your rock-hard abs and chiseled chest.
Various venues across the city, Apr 14-16, B2,300-10,400, available at www.gcircuit.com

5. Emporium’s Summer Pop-up Pool

Get into the poolside vibe without getting wet this holiday at Emporium Summer Pop-up Pool. The pool-themed shopping space is packed with beach-wear and other summer styles for all looks and wallets. Plus, if you spend over B2,000 in the department store, they’ll let you hop in the 3D photo booth “Bullet Time” for your own virtual pool photoshoot for free, as well as enter you into a lucky draw to win a trip to Sri Panwa, Phuket. Don’t forget to also taste the new strawberry flavor Perrier at their pop-up bar exclusively at Emporium Department Store.
