Skinhead & Tramlines:

Neversay Cutz

Founded by Way, one-third of local hip-hop trio Titanium, Neversay Cutz does men’s hair with a focus on street cuts and shaves. This is a popular spot for a close shave, not least because they make use of old-school straight razors, but on top of the skinhead and pattern shaved looks, they also offer smart casual cuts. The price for a shampoo and cut starts at B400.

927 Sukhumvit 51, 02-662-6781. BTS Thonglor. Additional branches: Ari (02-619-5240), Siam Square (02-252-0852), and Ramkumhang (02-719-0559). Open daily 9am-9pm.

Rockabilly Quaff:

Three Brothers Barber Shop

Don’t be alarmed by the gang of inked up barbers, this newest addition to the street cuts scene is all about retro rockabilly hairdos. The three barbers all have plenty of experience in men’s cuts, specializing in 1950s-style quaffs and undercuts—think Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and James Dean. The price for a shampoo and cut starts at B450, while the shop also sells imported men’s pomade from famous names like Suavecito, Layrite and Murray’s.

Metro Mall Room 34 (close to MRT Chatuchak Exit 1), 080-970-0216. MRT Chatuchak. Open 11am-8pm, closed on Wednesday.

The Classic Cut:

Blue Harbour

Owned by veteran architect and A49 design studio founder, Nithi Stapitanonda, Blue Harbour is a real gem when it comes to men’s grooming. Aside from the meticulous shop design which reminds us of a proper men’s salon, the real draw is barber Sawas Saard, who can claim more than 45 years’ experience in men’s cuts and shaves. This place is perfect for those wanting a classic shave with a straight razor or desperate to achieve that complete Don Draper look. The price for a shampoo and cut starts from B1,000, shave from B450.

2/F, K-Village, Suhkumvit 26, 02-661-2901-2. Open daily 10am-9pm.

Hipster’s Shave:

VTG Shop

While this may look like your typical jam-packed vintage store, step inside and you’ll likely see owner K. Oun holding a pair of scissors and clippers. That’s because VTG shop also does men’s hair cuts with an emphasis on vintage hairdos and hipster undercuts. Think the likes of Joseph Gorden Levitt, Ed Westwick and David Beckham. Haircuts start from B400.

Ekkamai Soi 10 (next to Happy Monday Bar), Ekkamai Rd., 083-906-0767, 083-703-1481. BTS Ekkamai. Open daily 3pm-9pm.

Runway Cuts:

The Lounge

The Lounge is run by top Thai model Metinee Lukkade Kingpayome along with top fashion hair stylists Somporn Kai Tirin and Porntep Rang Wanpate, while one of the shop’s hair dressers is none other than Thai celebrity Tony Rakkaen. You could call it a celebrity haircut hub, as the Lounge is known for its meticulous cuts and hair styles pulled straight from the runway. Hair dressers here have great experience working in salons abroad and have a portfolio of famous clients including members of Body Slam and Big Ass. A cut and shampoo starts from B900.

2/F, K-Village, Suhkumvit 26, 02-665-6020-2. Open daily 11am-8pm. n
